Chevrolet Cruze: |
Holden Tuning Company HSV Working On Hot-Cruze
While drivers in the United States still love their larger vehicles, the rest of the world is driving around in hatchbacks and wagons. Chevrolet might be attempting to capitalize on this with the Cruze five-door in the land of vegemite and kangaroos, Australia.
The base Cruze will likely feature a few four-cylinder petrols and diesels, but there is a chance that Holden’s in-house tuning company, HSV, will kick it up a notch with a high-performance four-pot, although this has not been confirmed. This will mean that the Volkswagen GTI and the Ford Focus ST will have some competition from GM.
We don’t expect to see or hear anything from HSV for quite some time, as the company is busy making sure its V8-powered vehicles will be able to survive in the future. We hope to hear something soon on the Cruze HSV, although Americans won’t ever be able to drive it.
Chevrolet Cruze Ads Are Warming Up
As with any new car, we can expect to see ads popping up like zits on a teenager’s face. The new ads for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze are just starting to appear on the web, which means it won’t be long until we see them on TV.
As of late, GM has a history of attacking other manufacturers, mostly Toyota and Honda, in its advertisements. This time it’s not different, as the ad clearly targets the Corolla. The second ad that you will see isn’t an attack, but rather an overview of all the positive things that have been said about the new kid on the block.
Frankly, we’re just happy that it’s Tim Allen doing the commercials this time and not Howie Long, as those were painfully bad. Expect see the ads hit the television waves sometime in the near future.

Chevrolet releases online configurator for the Cruze
The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze won’t turn heads as a road-burning machine, but when it comes to a car that comes with a fuel-economy calling card, you can’t do any better than this compact sedan.
And if you’ve got a taste for online configurators, you’re in luck because Chevrolet recently released the configurator for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze for you to go crazy on. You can opt for the basic LS model that comes with a price tag of just a nickel under $17,000 - $16,995, to be exactly. But if you’re willing to splurge on the car, you can click a myriad of features to put on the Cruze, including an RS appearance package, a sunroof, navigation system, and a spare tire to boot. All these add-ons could spike up the price of the car to $26,800, an increase of 10 grand over the basic model but still cheap enough to make it a little worth it.
Then again, all of this is subject to your imaginations so you might as well go the whole nine yards in configurating your virtual Cruze.
